Poseidon's Arrow Clive Cussler & Dirk Cussler read online review & book description:

In this adventure in the #1 New York Times bestselling series, oceanographer Dirk Pitt is back to find a crucial piece of marine tech that could reshape the United States’ defense program...

It is the greatest advance in American defense technology in decades—an attack submarine capable of incredible underwater speeds. There is only one problem: A key element of the prototype is missing—and the man who developed it is dead.

At the same time, ships have started vanishing mid-ocean, and when a few reappear, bodies are found aboard burned to a crisp. Could these mysterious events be connected to an Italian submarine that itself disappeared in 1943?

It is up to NUMA director Dirk Pitt and his team, aided by a beautiful NCIS agent and by Pitt’s children, marine engineer Dirk and oceanographer Summer, to go on a desperate international chase to find the truth, from Washington to Mexico, Idaho to Panama. What they discover at the end of it is a much, much greater threat than even they imagined.

Filled with breathtaking suspense and extraordinary imagination, Poseidon’s Arrow is further proof that when it comes to adventure writing, nobody beats Clive Cussler.

  • Great Book!!!

I’m 82 years old but I really understood most of what was going on. I read all his books and really enjoy them. This one was a little long and gory but still good. I haven’t figured out what is happening with the barge in the last pages. Maybe the next book will carry on from there. Thank you, Barbara

The book is a fun read, but I think a reasoning person would find the repeated encounters in a vast world and a vast ocean just a little incredible. And for as many times as The Pitts have been forced to surrender, their survival amongst capturing killers indicates a luck that should be directed to buying lottery tickets!

WOW. What a book, I am generally a slow reader, but I ran through the book. It grabs your attention and you never want to get out of the story.

Well, to start, I just want to say Cussler is great, one of the best. This book has all the classics of the Pitt series. Extreme danger, substantial odds, and fun. The Cussler family really knows how to write I must say since this was written with his son. I do have to admit, the pace can get a little slow at times, but they are always followed by explosive action. Now, i was surprised that Clive put himself in the book so early. I know that in every book he pops up somewhere, like Hitchcock in his films, but I was slightly disappointed that Dirk Cussler wasn't added in. I guess that's just Clive's thing. Now, to all those naysayers who are whining that this book is "bad" or "boring" I say this. Based on your comments, not a lot of you guys/gals actually finished the book. Like I said before, some sections can get slow, but that is no reason to not finish the book. I didn't necessarily like Great Expectations (sorry, can't italicize) but I finished it, and I'm glad I did. What I'm saying is don't look before you leap essentially. To finish, this book is a great adventure with all the classic aspects of a Dirk Pitt novel. This may not be my first recommendation for a Dirk Pitt book to a first time reader, but its near the top. Yours truly, A Big Fan

Borrrrrrrrring. Dumbbbbbbb. Major disappointment. Bolcke's SA hidden headquarters reminded me of an old James Bond movie.
