Plaintiff Thomas Walsh was involved in a pedestrian-automobile collision with defendant Richard Woods and brought suit to recover damages for his injuries. Because plaintiff had been on the job at the time he was struck by defendants car, he received workers compensation benefits, which by the time of trial amounted to approximately $30,000. His employers workers compensation insurance carrier intervened in the lawsuit seeking reimbursement of the benefits paid to plaintiff.
