The Last Man Vince Flynn read online review & book description:

#1 New York Times bestselling author of American Assassin—now a major motion picture

Mitch Rapp’s hunt for a missing CIA asset raises the stakes for his own survival—in Vince Flynn’s “tight, right, and dynamite” (Star Tribune, Minneapolis) #1 New York Times bestseller.

The head of clandestine operations in Afghanistan has been kidnapped, his four bodyguards executed in cold blood. With the CIA plunged into crisis mode, Rapp is dispatched to find his missing friend, Joe Rickman, at all costs. He isn’t the only one looking for Rickman; an FBI special agent is at his heels, determined to blame Rapp for the bloody debacle. Rapp is, however, the only one who knows certain things about the vanished black ops master—secrets that in the wrong hands could prove disastrous. With elements of his own government undermining him—and America’s security—at every turn, Rapp must be as ruthless and deceitful as his enemies to complete this razor’s-edge mission.

  • Good plot, hurried finish.

An easy and good read especially if you are familiar with the author’s characters. The main body of the book develops the story well. As usual there are unnecessary background details of the new people which sometimes do not contribute to the story. The last 50 pages of the book seem like it was hurried to be finished as the solutions came too quick and easy.

I will miss Vince Flynn tremendously. He was a fantastic author. I always looked forward to his next book as I finished the current one and am so sad that there will be no more. He was one of a kind.

All of the Mitch Rapp books are great. The story is left hanging because Vince Flynn died, but they are all amazing books and I highly recommend them. Flynn gives the reader an inside look at how Washington works and he does it with lots of intrigue, twists, and turns in the plot.
