Raylan Elmore Leonard read online review & book description:

“Elmore Leonard can write circles around almost anybody active in the crime novel today.”
—New York Times Book Review

With more than forty novels to his credit and still going strong, the legendary Elmore Leonard has well earned the title, “America’s greatest crime writer” (Newsweek). And U.S. Marshal Raylan Givens (Pronto, Riding the Rap, Fire in the Hole) is one of Leonard’s most popular creations, thanks in part to the phenomenal success of the hit TV series “Justified.” Leonard’s Raylan shines a spotlight once again on the dedicated, if somewhat trigger-happy lawman, this time in his familiar but not particularly cozy milieu of Harlan County, Kentucky, where the drug dealing Crowe brothers are branching out into the human body parts business. Suspenseful, darkly wry and riveting, and crackling with Leonard’s trademark electric dialogue, Raylan is prime Grand Master Leonard as you have always loved him and always will.

  • Raylan - more Raylan

If you like Raylan, you'll like this book. It isn't as good as the "Fire In The Hole" short story, originating the character, but it is an a absorbing romp in the world of Harlan (coal mining Ky) and Raylan's idiosyncratic US Marshall ways. He is a Good Guy and he takes those Bad Guys down in style. How fun is that!

What a disappointment! This whole book has a forced feeling about it. I guess even top selling authors need the cash. Save yours.

Mostly a rehash of tv show. It"s a great show but I was looking for something new. Not up to Dutch Leonard"s standards.
  • You gotta love Elmore! The great American gift that keeps on giving.

Raylin is a sly old dog, don't leave your fingers dangling, he might shoot them off to save your life. A different reality, known to one of the best living American authors today, Robert Parker rest his soul. Here's to Burke, Mosley, and Leonard today - the best in the business, please keep it going!

Horrible book. This is just season three of the television show on paper. Shame on the author rehashing his show and selling it.

This is one of the poorest novels I have ever tried to read. It's based on a completely unbelievable story line. It's based on the urban legion of people stealing kidneys. Don't waste your money!!
