A Long Walk to Water Linda Sue Park read online review & book description:

The New York Times bestseller A Long Walk to Water begins as two stories, told in alternating sections, about two eleven-year-olds in Sudan, a girl in 2008 and a boy in 1985. The girl, Nya, is fetching water from a pond that is two hours’ walk from her home: she makes two trips to the pond every day. The boy, Salva, becomes one of the "lost boys" of Sudan, refugees who cover the African continent on foot as they search for their families and for a safe place to stay. Enduring every hardship from loneliness to attack by armed rebels to contact with killer lions and crocodiles, Salva is a survivor, and his story goes on to intersect with Nya’s in an astonishing and moving way.

This book was a group reading when I was in 7th grade. It changed everything I had looked at and put it into a whole different perspective. I have a notebook full of things this book made me feel. Some people might not understand the meaning of this book and some might. All I know is when my teacher read this book with us and showed us the book. It changed the whole class. Be there for the ones you love. Some people don’t have what you have. Think abt that.. :) thx Ms.B for showing this book

This book has really changed me. Living in the US I have never understood the struggle people go through everyday in other countries. Showed me what it was like to in other countries. This amazing man(Salva) taught me what bravery and perseverance really is. This is one of my favorite books I have ever read and I look forward to researching more about this amazing story.

I just read this book and although the story was nice, this was no more than a short story. I was traveling overseas and wanted a book to hold me for a couple weeks and I was disappointed that I was charged $7.99 for a 100 page short story and Hoch I had no idea that this was what I was getting

I read this one a while back, almost two years ago, but it’s definitely one to remember.
