The Seat of the Soul Gary Zukav read online review & book description:

The anniversary edition of this beloved bestseller is celebrated in Prefaces by Oprah Winfrey and Maya Angelou and contains a new Foreword by the author, website links, and a new Study Guide to help readers find even deeper meaning and fulfillment.

The Seat of the Soul encourages you become the authority in your own life. It will change the way you see the world, interact with other people, and understand your own actions and motivations. Beginning with evolution, Gary Zukav takes you on a penetrating exploration of the new phase humanity has entered: we are evolving from a species that understands power as the ability to manipulate and control—external power—into a species that understands power as the alignment of the personality with the soul—authentic power. Our evolution requires each of us to make the values of the soul our own: harmony, cooperation, sharing, and reverence for Life. Using his scientist’s eye and philosopher’s heart, Zukav shows us how to participate fully in this evolution, enlivening our everyday activities and all of our relationships with meaning and purpose.

The Seat of the Soul has sold millions of copies around the globe, and as it changes lives, more and more people begin to live by the values of the spirit. Indeed, a new world is emerging, and this book brings its message to you.

  • A reference for my mindset

    By Norzz
This has been a go to reference book for me over the course of a quarter of my life. It helps me place in perspective the things that matter most. I read it without any predisposed thoughts and simply allowed myself to absorb what I capfuls to make myself a better person. I thanks Oprah for sharing her candid expression of how it has helped her.
  • Disappointing

    By DLJ31
I had high expectations for this book because it was referenced several times in Oprah's most recent book "What I Know For Sure." Unfortunately, this book did not measure up and was very boring and hard to get into. In addition, I did not like his strong spiritual beliefs expressed in the book. A more neutral approach would have allowed me to be more receptive to the information. Zukav should be thankful he was supported and promoted by such a powerhouse for so many years.
  • Too harsh &'preachy

    By CindyCharlie
This book takes a harsh, narrow, legalistc, and negative approach to the concept of karma and souls. Zukav writes through the entire book as an expert or worse, even as if he has the Only Truth, just like so many other religious "experts" that many of us are trying to get away from. Like all religious books, there seems to be truth in this book, but buried in so much harsh, narrow dogma that in the end I can't recommend that anyone else read it. I really wanted to like it, because I highly respect Oprah. But the last thing our world needs is one more rigid religion. Save your money and read someone kinder and gentler like Brian Weiss or Eben Alexander.
