Of Secrets and Slippers Chanda Hahn read online review & book description:

A haunting song
A deadly dance
An explosive finale

Allemar may be dead, but his cause festers in the dark. Strange beasts stalk the night, as haunting music corrupts the fog. When morning comes, nothing but dust remains. Rumors are quick to spread, with many speculating that Allemar had a son, and the heir of the evil sorcerer wants blood.

When an attack hits close to home, I become embroiled in a plan with the Magical Menagerie to infiltrate the palace of Sion and flush out the apprentice. Instead, I find twelve princesses, terrified and ensnared in a spell of music and death. Caught in a charade for my life, I don’t know whom to trust, for even my greatest love—may be my greatest enemy.

For I am Honor, one of the adoptive daughters of Lady Eville and I’m an anti mage, cursed with a gift that can kill. Forever forced to travel the ley lines to keep my friends safe, I must find the source of the rumors before the sinister song reaches its final note.

And death takes his final bow.

By Ur gonna wanna read this
Not only did I read this book in less than two days, but I obsessed over it like I never have a book or series before. At the end of this, I wanted to laugh, cry, scream, throw something. The plot was excellent, the twists were subtle- an amazing book honestly. But my heart wants to burst and I need a next book. This series had me in a chokehold.
  • The Perfect Ending

This book was an amazing end to an amazing book series! Honor was the most mysterious daughter of Eville and I was looking forward to this book the most. Chanda Hahn definitely didn’t disappoint! I love how she ends books and series tying up every loose end. You always feel fully immersed in her world and a little sad for the ending. Every time I end her books I start over and every time there’s another book in her series I re-read every other book just to get a chance to re-read them! Of Secrets and Slippers is a perfect end and Honor’s story is amazing! You will never be disappointed when picking up a Chanda Hahn book!

All I can say is I love it! I love the secrets and how everything ended. I have been waiting to read Honors story and find out her mystery for so long. She is such a strong character. I cried many times towards the end. Thank you Chandra!
  • Above all do it for Honor

Wow! What an amazing ending to a wonderful series. We finally get the mysterious Honor’s story and it was not what I expected at all; it was better! A very new take on the 12 dancing princesses fairy tale. The plot is detailed and richly written, the characters are interesting, and there are some unpredictable plot twists! I’m only sad this is the end of the road with these characters. I highly recommend the whole series!
  • For Honor!

What a phenomenal conclusion to a wonderful series. I’m never more grateful to an author than when they truly tie up loose ends. From the sneak peeks we got to see Honor as a fierce sister but her story is much more intriguing than I could of hoped for. Seeing through her eyes had me at times broken hearted for her as we walked along her in the telling of her life. I feel this book really shinned a light on real issues in every day life of someone who feels they must steer clear as to not hurt others by just being who they are and I loved to see how she grew and overcame as the story unfolded. This story can absolutely be used as a stand-alone because things are explained but to read each story and see beloved characters come back and to find out cute little tidbits made my heart so happy. This story is a must read for young and old alike.

If I could give this book more stars I would. It was just wonderful. This is a twisted retailing of the twelve dancing princesses. This book is about Honor. She is an anti-mage that has to travel the lay lines to stay alive. We find out so much about Honor and about the kingdoms in this book. We know some good stuff is going to happen. But, hang on because just when you think you know something. You don't. We see all our favorites and some of the ones we might not care for also. Rumple is back and ready to fight. We also get to know some new friends. I love everything about them. I also learned never question mother Eville. She knows everything. I mean EVERYTHING!!! So many OMG moments. I could not believe what I was reading. This is the final book in this series. Each one is about one of the seven Eville sisters. All are retailing of a classic fairytale. You will want to start at the first book and work your way through. Each one becomes my favorite.
  • Excellent!

I couldn’t put it down, nor any of the others in the series. Absolutely loved it! This is a series I know I will come back to and read again and again- thank you!
  • Mind blowing conclusion to an epic series

When I tell you that I have been on pins and needles waiting for the conclusion to this series!!! Hahn did not disappoint!!! Everything wrapped up beautifully with Honor’s story. The shocking twists didn’t even register on my radar. Holy shiitake mushrooms this story was so good.
  • Whoa!!

I’m still giddy about how everything came to a finale. I love how each story was unique to each sister. Nothing repeated or seemed the same for each sister. Honor was no different. I really loved getting to know Honor a bit more in this book. She is very talented!! The story sucked me in and I was sad to see it come to a end but I cannot wait to reread the entire series. It is so good! I hope one day we revisit this series or get a spin-off. I’d love to visit the cities again.
