Very good love story. Enjoyed how the characters’ self-awareness grew.

  • Good book for a rainy day

I love to curl up with a good book on a rainy day & this book was just that. I spent the day with Steve & Annette, 2 new friends of mine. Now, I’ve finished the book & must let go of them. At least until book 2 of this series! I recommend it if you love a good story with a few “surprises “ that you can see coming, but it’s good anyway. Also, there was limited sex scenes, but they were there in more detail than necessary, thus only 4 stars.

  • Wonderful

The only complaint I have is how long it took Annette to get over her “poor pitiful little me” state of mind. Other than that, I loved it. The fact that she and Steve didn’t get married in the beginning of the story was a good thing. Turns out, they both had growing up to do and learning to take responsibility of that whole life they had. I loved it and am ready to move on to the story of Max.

This is a wonderful story about two people who deserve to find happiness. Annette and Steve must come to terms with why their marriage-to-be could not have taken place when they stood at the alter 7 1/2 years ago. The many truths that are revealed when Annette returns to Tobias, Wisconsin to care for her injured brother are surprising and so very human, especially those truths that involve Steve. Family dynamics in this story are shown to be much like the reader would find in real life families. Can Annette and Steve see themselves as they were then and as they are now and forge a new relationship? Read this beautifully told story to find out.

Can betrayal ever be explained enough to warrant forgiveness? What if the bride never gave the groom a chance to explain since she ran away and never looked back for seven years until family obligations forced her to confront her past love? Annette considered herself the victim. As she learns the truth about the reason Steven married Lily and became a father to her daughter, Nell, Annette discovers they were all sad victims. The question was whether she could forgive and move forward with the man she never stopped loving, or would she simply walk away. Good read!
