The Gargoyle Gets His Girl Kristen Painter read online review & book description:

Welcome to Nocturne Falls, the town that celebrates Halloween 365 days a year. The tourists think it's all a show: the vampires, the werewolves, the witches, the occasional gargoyle flying through the sky. But the supernaturals populating the town know better.

Living in Nocturne Falls means being yourself. Fangs, fur, and all.

Willa Iscove, fae jeweler, has her first stalker. Really, he’s just one of her lovesick customers. The ring she crafted to help him find new love has backfired, making Willa the object of his affections. In a bid to rid herself of her amorous client, Willa makes a wish in the Nocturne Falls fountain using the piece of opal in her pocket and in doing so, unknowingly conscripts as her guardian the sexy gargoyle on duty.

Former Army Ranger and gargoyle Nick Hardwin has some serious suspicions about the pretty fae who just invoked the ancient pact for protection. Her kind have been at odds with his kind for ages. Now she wants his help? He’s determined to figure out what she’s up to. Which won’t be a hardship considering how much fun she is to be around. And kiss.

But then her stalker turns out to be the tip of the iceberg and things go really wrong, really fast. When they’re both kidnapped, Willa is forced to make a hard decision. The life of her family or the freedom of the man she’s fallen for?

I sure would've loved it more if Hank had needed to use his Leviathan size for something. Or Ranger training. Willa's story was great!
  • Supernaturally good

10 of 10 people found the following review helpful 5.0 out of 5 stars Nick & Willa don't disappoint, August 2, 2015 This review is from: The Gargoyle Gets His Girl (Nocturne Falls Book 3) (Kindle Edition) I received an ARC from the Author/Publisher in exchange for an honest review. I have long loved Kristen Painter's work. Getting the opportunity to read one of her books prior to it's release is treat. Kristen is a brilliant writer, and with all her other works I've read, this one is up to her usual standards and doesn't disappoint. Book 3 of the Nocturne Falls series follows Willa the Fae Jeweler of the town and Nick a Gargoyle resident with a new job at the park fountain. Unwittingly Willa conscripts Nick's help when she makes a wish using opal she had in her pocket in the fountain while touching what she thinks is a new statue. Nick & Willa get along quite well, and their story is filled with more than a little bit of fae magic. I won't ruin the story, but if you liked VMOB or WMHM (Nocturne Falls 1 & 2) you will love this book too. With every book Kristen writes, I am more convinced she's an immortal. I have yet to figure out what type, but I'll pry it out of her one way or another eventually. Romance: Mild behind closed doors Violence: Mild mostly off camera This book definitely gets 5 stars.

The third book in the series tells the tale of your friendly neighborhood gargoyle and the beautiful fae next door. You not only get the story of the main characters, but you learn about other people in the town. I'm really looking forward to finding out who gets the next story and catch up on what's been happening in Nocturn Falls.
